CORRIB COUNTRY - A Rambler’s Guide and Map
Map covers the area around Lough Corrib from Galway City to Maam Bridge and north to Cong. The two-sided, A1, full colour, folded guide and map combines artwork and text to introduce the main heritage features such as Inchagoill and Cong Abbey and also invite the visitor to explore lesser known sites of historical and environmental interest. The map shows the lake and its islands and has illustrations of the bird, fish and plant-life to be found around the lake. It marks places of heritage interest, the road network around the lake and includes the locations and numbers of the old navigation marks on the lake itself (The marks are currently being replaced by IALA System ones - May 2013). The reverse side of the map contains fifteen pages of text, illustrated by fifteen pencil drawings, to provide information on natural history and heritage. Grid references are used for easy cross-reference between the text, illustrations and the map.
